Langdon Elementary School Recognized as Title 1 Distinguished School

The National Title I Distinguished Schools Program is a project of the National Title I Association that publicly recognizes schools for their positive educational advances. Langdon Elementary School was chosen by our State Department of Education based on outstanding performance in one of these three categories:
Category 1: Exceptional student performance for two consecutive years
Category 2: Closing the achievement gap between student groups
Category 3: Excellence in serving special populations of students (e.g., homeless, migrant, English learners, etc.)
Because only two schools per state can be selected as a National Title I Distinguished School each year, this award is an especially prestigious honor for our school, staff and students.

Langdon Elementary School Named Bold Improvement School for Last Two Years
Schools receiving the award have the highest percentage of at-risk students and the most academic growth for these students. Students are considered at-risk when their families are eligible for SNAP or TANF, or are in foster care or homeless. Langdon has been honored to be named a Bold Improvement School for closing the achievement gap for our most at risk students for the school year 2017/2018 & 2018/2019.
